Weaves (also known as the eight Winds of Magic) is a new gamemode added by the Winds of Magic DLC. The weaves differ from the adventure by requiring a set of weave-forged Weapons, unlocked at Athanor on the Arcanum where the weaves are also accessed.
Arcanum
The weaves are accessible on the Arcanum, which is on the roof to the rear of Taal's Horn Keep. The player first needs to complete the Dark Omens Mission to gain access to the weaves. If one has successfully completed Dark Omens, Olesya will move to the Arcanum to teach the player how to forge weapons at the Athanor and how to select weaves.
Winds of Magic
Winds of Magic are made of different weaves, which are a combination of the following:
- Map: A reversed and reskinned chunk of an existing mission
- Wind: The different Winds of Magic will affect and modify the map
- Objective: Each map will have a specific objective for players to complete.
- Finale: If the objective is completed the players will face the final challenge.
- Difficulty: As players progress the difficulty will increase.
There are eight different types of weaves:
Weave | Icon1 | Wind | Debuff | Icon2 | Effect |
---|---|---|---|---|---|
Amber | Ghur - The Wind of Beasts | Ghur's Wrath | Primal totems can be found in the Weave, empowering enemies. Attack the totems to destroy them. | ||
Amethyst | Shyish - The Wind of Death | Shyish's Haunting | Slaying an enemy releases a vengeful spirit to stalk its killer for a time. Spirits deal heavy damage, so keep them at a distance | ||
Bright | Aqshy - The Wind of Fire | Aqshy's Incineration | All attacks inflict burning on the victim - whether delivered by heroes or enemies. | ||
Celestial | Azyr - The Wind of Heavens | Azyr's Stormsurge | Watch out for the circles for warning of incoming lightning strikes. Lightning damages both heroes and enemies. | ||
Gold | Chamon - The Wind of Metal | Chamon's Aurification | Armoured enemies are tougher, but killing one grants a metalstorm aura that damages foes. | ||
Grey | Ulgu - The Wind of Shadow | Ulgu's Deception | An enemy's identity is concealed until it gets close. While concealed, enemies take reduced damage. | ||
Jade | Ghyran - The Wind of Life | Ghyran's Flourishing | Brambles form from the life Essence of slain enemies. Moving into the bramble inflicts damage and reduces your movement speed. | ||
Light | Hysh - The Wind of Light | Hysh's Purging | Hysh drives impurity from the soul, reducing maximum health over time but increasing attack speed through renewed zeal. Standing next to beacons reverses the purging's effects. |
