Loot is equipment and heroic deeds found in the chests that are received as level up bonuses and as rewards for successfully completing a mission. A loot box will always contain 3 items, of which at least 1 will always be equipment. Loot boxes come in various types and degrees of rarity.

Types

There are currently 5 types of loot boxes, each with a power level cap:

  • Mission Success - Recruit - 100 Power
  • Mission Success - Veteran - 200 Power
  • Mission Success - Champion - 300 Power
  • Mission Success - Legend - 300 Power
  • Commendation Chest - Level Up Reward - 300 Power

The game keeps track of the highest Power value you've ever obtained for each item slot (across all heroes/careers), even if you salvage those items. It then calculates an average highest power across all 5 item slots. New items received from a chest (or by crafting) have a power level up to +10/-5 based on this average highest power, up to the limit listed above.

Rarity

Completing a mission will give you a chest of the above type, whose rarity will be determined by a system which replaces the dice game from Vermintide 1. Accomplishments made during the level will give you points (shown by a bar).

Accomplishment Notes Points
Mission Success 10
Quickplay Bonus 10
Tomes x0-3 10 each
Grimoires x0-2 15 each
Loot Dice x0-2 5 each
Ranald's Gift Random 0-30

Depending on how many points you score, you are given chests of increasing rarity:

Chest Points
Peasant 0-19
Commoner 20-39
Merchant 40-59
Soldier 60-79
General 80-99
Emperor 100-120

Higher rarities have an increased chance to have higher quality equipment.
